Combate Global’s Evolution continues with much-anticipated return to Mexico City, strategic partnership with EndemolShine Boomdog and unprecedented, All-Digital Distribution

MIAMI August 25, 2025 – Creativity and innovation are two attributes that COMBATE GLOBAL has never lacked, and its two latest moves – partnering with global production powerhouse, EndemolShine Boomdog, part of Banijay Americas, and transitioning its live television series from linear to all-digital distribution – are already paying big dividends.

Just seven months and five events after the U.S.-based, Mexico-centric Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise made the decision to go all-in on distributing its live shows digitally on YouTube, it has garnered a total of over 5.2 million television minutes viewed and over 3 million viewer impressions.

The move to YouTube and digital distribution comes after a highly successful, six-year run on TelevisaUnivision’s broadcast television platform where, in 2023, it garnered a total of 1 billion television minutes viewed, outperforming MMA’s juggernaut, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on more than one occasion, and regularly outdrawing far more established sports properties, including Major League Baseball, NASCAR, soccer’s Premiere League and the National Hockey League (NHL).

COMBATE GLOBAL, which generated a high of 1.3 million P2+ viewers for a single show in 2023, boasted the youngest linear television audience in MMA and the largest female audience (49 percent of all viewers) in the sport.

According to Nielsen television data, this audience was also a very new one for MMA, with 85 percent of COMBATE GLOBAL viewers not being UFC fans.

The television numbers it put up on Univision in 2023 cemented COMBATE GLOBAL’s place as the fastest growing sports property in the U.S. and, in 2024, the company was ranked by Forbes as the 10th most valuable combat sports property worldwide

“From a programming standpoint, we certainly didn’t need to take our shows to a digital platform, but to continue growing worldwide and to further our reach to young, new MMA fans, which has always been our goal, we needed to do so,” said COMBATE GLOBAL CEO Campbell McLaren, who also co-founded and created the UFC in 1993.

Since its inception, COMBATE GLOBAL has always pushed the envelope as the first-ever U.S. Hispanic MMA sports franchise and demonstrated a distinct appreciation for Mexican culture which is, in part, what attracted investment in the company from a few famous individuals, including Kate Del Castillo and Elisa Salinas.

It’s this passion that also led to the fruition of the company’s newest partnership, one with television production giant EndemolShine Boomdog, which will usher COMBATE GLOBAL back to Mexico, where, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, it had produced 22 live television events across six different markets in the country.

As the #1 Latin-American production company, EndemolShine Boomdog, will bring its production expertise to this world-renowned format.

EndemolShine Boomdog is the producer behind some of the most important television brands in Mexico and the United States, including La Casa de los Famosos and La Casa de los Famosos Mexico, Quién es la Máscara? and Como Agua Para Chocolate.

COMBATE GLOBAL’s ‘Mexico vs. Argentina’ show will pit a group of five of the best, new Mexican competitors in the sport against equally fierce opponents from Argentina on Thursday, Aug. 28.

The lineup will be comprised of three men’s bouts and two women’s matchups, and already has these athletes posturing on social media, in support of their respective countries.

“Everyone understands the concept of fighting for one’s country,” said McLaren. “The sport of soccer thrives on it, which is a big part of the reason why COMBATE adopted this model.  It’s a format that evokes strong emotions and makes people care more about what they are watching on television – and that’s a big reason why this company has stood out from the rest in its business and will continue to do so.”
