The acclaimed HBO Original series LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE final season debuts on Sunday, February 15. The first episode will launch just in time for Valentine’s Day weekend, and a new episode will debut every Sunday until March 22. Building on the success of its debut, the new chapter continues with the passionate narrative inspired by Laura Esquivel’s celebrated work.
As part of HBO Max Upfront 2026 in Latin America event, where upcoming content for the year was unveiled to journalists, the announcement was made by Irene Azuela, who plays Mamá Elena in the series, and Mariano César, SVP of General Entertainment Original Content and Programming Strategy at Warner Bros. Discovery Latin America & US Hispanic. Azuela, along with Ximena Amann, the series DP, attended the event to share insights from the set and tease what audiences can expect from this highly anticipated season.
In LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE final season, Tita finds in Dr. Brown the promise of a different destiny—one where sweetness offers refuge. But Pedro’s return reignites a forbidden passion that defies rules and traditions. Against the backdrop of a Mexico marked by violence and social transformation, traumas, losses, and secrets push every character to confront their limits and decide how much they’re willing to risk for love and freedom. Amid the magic of the kitchen and the strength of their emotions, Tita and Pedro discover that some loves, are meant to burn forever.
The series combines magical realism connected with traditional Mexican dishes an ancestral alchemy as a vivid portrayal of Mexican culture, weaving love, family, and lore into a visually stunning story that honors heritage and emotion.
The original cast — Irene Azuela, Azul Guaita, Ana Valeria Becerril, Andrea Chaparro, Andrés Baida, Francisco Angellini, Ángeles Cruz, Mauricio García Lozano, Ari Brickman, and Louis David Horné — return to reprise their beloved roles.
